O.Carm. Development Center-PDO supports the programs and advocacies of the Philippine Province of Blessed Titus Brandsma of the Order of Carmelites. It aims to form capable and mature, prayerful and discerning Carmelites, committed to living out Carmelite Tradition and Charism in the Philippine context towards societal transformation. It also aspire to build strong local communities enlivened by Carmel Tradition and Charism following the footsteps of Jesus Christ in ever greater service to the basic sectors. It desires to create in our apostolate centers of care and dialogue so as to attain relevant and meaningful pastoral approaches and new ministries. It also hope to offer our experiences as Filipino Carmel to the international Order as our contribution to the worldwide prophetic stance for the poor and marginalized, and to strengthen our care for integrity of creation.

Vision

As a Province of the Order of the Brothers and Sisters of our Lady of Mount Carmel in the Philippines, we want to become a Filipino Carmelite Community:

Filipino : rooted in the positive values of Filipino family and the treasures of life and history of our people, particularly of the poor and oppressed.

Carmelite : nourished by the fraternal, prophetic, and contemplative tradition, of Carmel, handed down to us as a gift and charism of our people today.

Community : called to be a living image of God’s reign, though in brokenness, in brotherhood and sisterhood, as religious and lay, amidst the people.

Mission

To live : prophetic and contemplative brotherhood and sisterhood, challenged by the lives of Elijah and Mary: unmasking idols, denouncing injustices, promoting life, and serving the people.

To offer : services basically to the poor and marginalized in fellowship with all the partners in our parish apostolate, schools, media, BCC and sectoral programs (cf. VMS 1991)

To create : venues to make our Carmel Tradition and charism a source of life within the Filipino struggle (cf. VMS 1991).
